Genesis Revisited: The Genesis Story
by Alan Hewitt

All the facts, as sure as eggs is eggs

A book that redefines the oft-used RC phrase, ‘labour of love’, Genesis Revisited provides a standard text for those wishing to bathe in Genesis minutiae. As the editor of the esteemed fanzine, The Waiting Room, Alan Hewitt’s love for his subject is unquestionable and his thirst for trivia unquenchable.

Genesis Revisted is not the place for the casual fan to stray, and any negative comments a nonbeliever may have would soon pale into insignificance with the veritable barrage of facts one gets in return; chronologies, tour dates, bootlegs, discographies in abundance for the group together and all its component parts separately. And we do mean all (Ray Wilson’s tour dates, anyone?).

Although not a biography per se, it is especially strong on the early years up to and including Trespass, and Hewitt has managed to interview virtually everyone connected with the group – except, surprise, surprise, Peter Gabriel.

This edition contains the recent reunion announcement and forthcoming tour dates, but doesn’t take in the recently released first set of exemplary Genesis reissues. It makes, say, talk about the 1976 concert film with Bill Bruford never being seen already redundant. So, Genesis Revisited Revisited cannot be far away! Available through www.twronline.net.
