Bad Manners
Dublin Academy
13th December, 2009
View: in among the dancing
No frills, just good-time danceable ska with a magnetic lead singer and a tight young band. Buster Bloodvessel and a troupe of young session musicians (he’s had 300+ pass through the band!) treated the Dublin audience to a night of ska dancing and frivolity. Their main singles, from My Girl Lollipop to the closing party atmosphere of the Can Can, sandwiched the night’s entertainment. A comedy pop-punk interlude of Nellie The Elephant and 2 Pints Of Lager ensured old punks were treated to a good time (and an extended set). While the crooning cover of Can’t Take My Eye’s Off You led logically to Just A Feeling, Special Brew ensured the crowd descended into mayhem. Buster and the band loved every minute, and it rubbed off on an energetic audience.
