Blood, Sweat & Tears - Child Is Father To The Man
Kooped up and rearing to go
BS&T were co-founded by a post-Blues Project Al Kooper in 1967. With this debut album, Kooper combined psychedelia, R&B, jazz and even elements of classical arrangements. The result was an alchemical classic derived from the centre of Kooper’s brain – small wonder that his new “big band rock fusion” defied easy classification. It even befuddled Kooper’s fellow band members who, realising that the project wouldn’t yield hits, fame or cash, promptly sacked their leader. It was the worst move they ever made; though the remnants later found fame and fortune, they quickly lost it – and every ounce of their credibility.
