Balance - In For the Count
1982 effort from Bruce Kulick, Peppy Castro, et al
Before the ex-Kiss guitarist Kulick took to producing every rock tribute album under the sun, he played alongside future Blue yster Cult drummer Chuck Burgi in this quintet. Their nine-song opus is here boosted by two bonuses, notably the Queen-lite Ride The Waves. Of the main course, the tastiest offerings are the urgent, Nightranger-like AOR of Is It Over and slashing guitar of Undercover Man (cue Kulick pyrotechnics to finish). Pull The Plug overcomes its hissy intro to rock along amiably, as do Bedroom Eyes and others, making for a pleasing performance all round.
