Bill Bixby - Ode To Quetzalcoatl

Acid-folk downer

Singer-songwriter Bixby had a hard time through drugs use, but emerged out from the other side relatively unharmed and embracing religion. You can read all about it in the sleevenotes on the back of this rare, obscure album that’s filled with such moody, depressive, sparse folk from 1969 that it makes you wonder if he truly had been “saved”. As a concept, Ode To Quetzalcoatl is a perfect reflection on the confusion that pervaded the hippie period.
