Rolling Stones Worldwide II: An Anthology Of Original 7”, 12”, EP & CD Singles Releases 1971- 2008
by Christoph Maus

Got worldwide if you want it

The world’s most insatiable Rolling Stones chronicler strikes again. A couple of years on from his first instalment, Christoph Maus hits us with part two in his exhaustive trawl through the Stones’ singles and EPs catalogue.

No format is too small, no country too insignificant, with about 50 countries covered, ranging from the obvious American and British markets, over into Hong Kong and Singapore, way down south of the equator in Mozambique, and across European and South American territories. The Stones had launched their own Rolling Stones Records imprint by 1971, so entries in this book are plastered with the tongue-and-lips logo and that hideous, oh-so-70s company sleeve (check the UK’s Tumbling Dice/Sweet Black Angel entry). On the down side, as time goes by you also get rubbish Mixed Emotions and I Go Wild picture sleeves.

Thankfully, the visually slack moments are picked up by a look at how the Stones releases have been handled in each territory. There’s also full label and catalogue number information for each entry, as many scans as possible and more in depth history for the bigger items. No prices, though a five-star “collector’s value” grading system at least gives you some idea of cost for some of the lesser-seen releases on these shores.
