Dave Waite & Marianne Segal - Paper Flowers
Not yet Jade-ed
Before they moved, along with Rod Edwards, to a more folk-rock sound with Jade, Waite and Segal toured the UK as a duo singing early folk ditties. The act was driven by Segal, who wrote the majority of the songs during the late 60s, blending English and American folk styles. Unfortunately, while the duo recorded tracks at home, in the studio and on the radio, they never released an album proper. In 1969, however, Polydor did make noises about releasing a single by the duo. Those early Polydor demos are here, along with many of their other recorded tracks and two bonus cuts, Dawn Song and All The Reasons. Fans of early Sandy Denny should check this out.
