The Searchers
Worthing Pavilion
29th August, 2008
View: front row, stalls
“We’re going to try to make it to our 50th anniversary,” announced Frank Allen during this two-hour-plus set at a packed Pavilion, and on this showing, The Searchers will have no problem. Hits flowed and were accompanied by B-sides and album tracks that kept not only casual fans happy, but many regulars too. A big year for The Searchers has seen their The Very Best Of make No. 11. They’ve at least one great album left in them, while keeping themselves busy on another exhausting Solid Silver 60s tour next year. They’re masters in the art of audience communication and set-list compilation. See them while you can!
