Annexus Quam - Osmose

Krautshock

This is classic 70s Krautrock – specifically, from Kamp-Lintfort in Düsseldorf, Germany – that mixes jazz and rock with smatterings of psych and lots of weirdness. Issued in 1970, the record sounds like the group decided to explore the hidden corners of music. So we hear ambient noises, space guitar, lots of moaning, swing jazz (of all things) plus many other studio effects. It’s an album of creative abandonment that hits the spot so many times, like the musical equivalent of buying a lottery ticket every day for a week and hitting the jackpot every time: they couldn’t have done it again if they’d tried. Featuring a beautiful gatefold origami affair that forms into a pyramid, this edition is limited to just 500 copies.
