Bruce Springsteen &
The E Street Band
Vancouver GM Place, Canada
31st March, 2008
View: stage-left
Often described as one of the best live shows on the planet, Springsteen & The E-street gang’s performance rang true to form. To the opening beat of Atlantic City, the immense power and conviction of drummer ‘Mighty’ Max Weinberg was evident. The Boss sang with passion and energy, bringing enthusiasm and fluidness to No Surrender, She’s The One and Because The Night. New songs such as Living In The Future, Devil’s Arcade and Long Walk Home came across with tight orchestration, as if the band had been playing them for years. But the commitment that The Boss brought to Trapped, The River, None But The Brave and Badlands was inspiring. Some cool harmonica, as well as Little Steven and Nils Lofgren’s guitars, made these numbers electric. Tenth Avenue Freeze Out, Born To Run and Dancing In The Dark got everyone on their feet to close out the night.
