Sex Pistols
Manchester MEN Arena

Two things were very evident from this Manchester appearance. Firstly, the years have not dimmed the intense belief in the eyes of Lydon, and the Pistols, musically, are one of the greatest rock’n’roll acts ever. The 20,000-crowd slams and moshes with glee and those coruscating songs are almost an irrelevance under the weight of the waves of roaring love hitting the stage. The band touched every individual here and, best of all, crash-brained teenagers skulked and roared for release in the face of the old guard.
