Hanoi Rocks - Self Destruction Blues (Vinyl)

Finnish rock, pre-Lordi

Five rockin’ lads from Finland, replete with tons of eyeliner and clothes possibly derived from last year’s Christmas crackers. Nevertheless, this was the group that wanted to be bigger than Abba. Well, their hair was, at least. This compilation of rarities was first released in 1982 and features a selection of glam-oriented B-sides, singles, demos and other outtakes. Tracks include Beer & A Cigarette, Kill City Kill and Dead By. Intriguingly, despite the appearance of Gyp Casino (who was sacked before the album was released) on drums, it’s Razzle, the new guy on the stool (who later died in a car crash), on the sleeve. Band politics, eh?
