Country Joe & The Fish - Electric Music For The Mind & Body (Vinyl)

Mind and body food for Fishmongers everywhere

The band’s 1967 debut release, Electric Music… would prove an important landmark in the psychedelic era, and one which would also combine some top musical talent with a superb in-studio performance. It wholly captured Joe and co’s raison d’être in one fell swoop; amazing when you consider that many bands take years to transfer their live talents to the studio with any success. Within their organ and guitar mélange is a range of musical targets ranging from the political to the personal and back again (after all, Joe was named after Stalin, and the band was almost called Country Mao & The Fish). Mixing blues, rock and jazz into a hippy porridge, this album will give you a warm glow, like LSD-laced Ready Brek.
