ALP! ARE MY BEATLES PHOTOS RARE?

In 1964 my mother was in Obertauen, Austria, on a ski holiday with some friends, and there she met these great guys who were staying at the same hotel: The Beatles. They were filming Help. She was eating lunch when they sat down at her table to chat and drink wine! She doesn’t remember much (she is 97 now) but she remembers that they were very friendly and funny, especially Ringo, and she took several photos. Eventually someone came up and asked if she was with the film crew and when she said No she was asked to leave as this was a private lunch. John and Paul seemed sorry because they were having fun, and the next day they said hello again.

Presumably the photos taken that day are “rare unseen Beatles photos”? Are they worth anything? What should I do with them? Auction? eBay?

We suggest that as a first step you contact one of the London auction houses who specialise in rock memorabilia. We’ll send you a list. –Ed.
