MOURNING FOR MOURNBLADE
Your Space Rock feature (RC 360) was fascinating. If it overspilled its parameters a little, all the better for readers. But I was most surprised by the omission of Mournblade, a legendary group of the 80s in the true tradition of theatre-space-rock. Their song Sidewinder was mooted as a single and would have rivaled Silver Machine or any Motorhead--honestly!
Mournblade’s eponymous and only album on Flicknife deserves a CD reissue, and as they toured with Huw Lloyd Langton (among others) it is a pity too that his solo albums weren’t given a nod. But it is quirky to quibble about an issue that gives the totally original Dr. Strangely Strange a deserved page. P.S We have to pay the equivalent of £6 for RC here in Poland but it’s still worth it.
