THE AD THAT STARTED IT ALL
In his Motown From The Beginning (RC360) Kingsley Abbott said he first read about the launch of Dave Godin’s Tamla Motown Appreciation Society in the ‘Small Ads’ pages of Record Mirror. I wonder if he can be referring to this ad which appeared in the January 4, 1964 edition, complete with mis-spellings? I think was the very first ad that Dave (pictured) placed.
