KRAUTROCK CLAIMANT
In May 1972 myself, along with Gary Pollack (later head of the Billingsgate label, who released Neu, Epitaph and Lucifer’s Friend LPs), flew to Frankfurt to catch the Second Annual German Rock Fest in Frankfurt. On the bill were Guru Guru, Atlantis, Doldinger, and Nektar. The next day we flew to Berlin to catch Epitaph in an outdoor concert. These were heady times (pass the dutchie!). Gary and I coined the word ‘Krautrock’, for sure. I formed the Cosmos label in the USA and in 1974 created the Italian progressive rock phenomenon Stateside with releases by Le Orme, PFM, Osanna and Il Rovescio Della Medaglia, but that’s another yarn. John Doran brought back loads of memories - thanks.
