THE WONDER OF WOOLIES

Sad day today. I went into Woolworths in Greenford for probably the last time. When I was younger I bought most of my singles from Woolies and looking at them now I can still tell which ones came from the store as they always wrote the date you bought them just inside the cover! I also remember the racks of MFP records and I am sure I bought the Monkees, The Animals, Pink Floyd, Relics and probably my first copy of Tony Sheridan and The Beatles there. It was Woolies that first introduced me to record collecting, God bless Woolworths. The last person to serve me, my son, was also introduced to record (CD) collecting by the wonder of Woolies!
