NEWMANISM

Loved the Randy Newman interview (RC 353). l worked in an advertising agency in New York in the mid-seventies and my leaving present when l left was a demo-tape of Randy singing a song he’d written extolling the wonders of Dr Pepper. He sounded less than enthusiastic about the product and l doubt it was ever used. Your record list should have included the double CD of Good Old Boys containing Johnny Cutler’ s Birthday, an earlier 12 track version of Boys and essential listening for Newman fans.
