SEASONS GREETINGS
Thanks for the article on Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons (RC 348), nice to see Frankie and the guys getting some recognition! However a few points: no mention was made of Joe Long (seen on the left in the photo above right) who replaced Nick Massi and was a key member of the Seasons in what was regarded as one of their finest line ups from mid-60s to early-70s. Also you state the Four Seasons ‘finally called it a day in 1978’… not true! A live double album called Reunited Live was issued on Warners in the early 80s, plus two later studio albums Streetfighter (MCA 1985) and Hope aAnd Glory (Curb Records 1992).
A DVD of a 30th anniversary concert in Atlantic City was also issued that year with a latter day Four Seasons that included Frankie Valli , Larry Lingle (vocals, guitars), Rex Robinson (vocals, bass), Tim Stone (vocals, keyboards) plus a drummer and an additional keyboard player.
Ex-Sugarloaf vocalist/keyboard player Jerry Corbetta was in the Reunited Live 80s Four Seasons alongside Valli, Lingle, Gerry Polci and Don Ciccone (all still produced by Bob Gaudio). I saw them in Poole in 1981! It’s great to see Jersey Boys doing so well.
