Genesis Charisma Collectables
A treasury of worldwide rarities compiled by Peter Vickers
There have been many Genesis releases on many labels over the years, but it’s the famous Charisma label which still holds the most interest for collectors.
The Charisma pink scroll Label was the label design used on the first Genesis LP released by Charisma, Trespass. In the UK, they were used from Charisma’s inception in 1969 until mid-1972. In the United States, the pink scroll labels were used in late 1973 and early 1974 on releases distributed by Buddah Records.
Releases distributed by Atlantic Records used the small Mad Hatter label. Because Charisma had many bands who were relative unknowns when they were signed, many original pressings of early UK issues of albums from Charisma bands like Genesis with pink scroll labels have become quite rare and sought after by collectors.
With this article, I have tried to represent the top worldwide Genesis collectable records, CDs etc which include stock releases, promos, box sets and compilations on the Charisma label. Some of these releases, especially the early Gabriel items, are incredibly rare, and once they are added to a private collection they are rarely seen for sale again.
So turn these pages of this article slowly, as some of these records have only been seen by a select few Genesis fans. Then look through your personal collection and compare, see …
