NUMANISM TOP 75 GARY NUMAN COLLECTABLES

Thirty years since the release of the first Tubeway Army single, That’s Too Bad, we celebrate with this survey of the most collectable items from the Numan catalogue.

In recent years, favourites from the late 70s have increased steadily in value: Tubeway Army’s self-titled debut album on blue vinyl in Mint condition has sold for well over £100 recently. Original vinyl LP pressings of Replicas (with black and white poster), the Down In The Park 12” single and the original 7” Are Friends Electric? (with thin semi-transparent picture sleeve) will set you back £30 to £40 each. And with ‘dark red’ vinyl mispressings of the early 80s singles regularly reaching £30, things are looking up for the early original releases. Test pressings, acetates and uncut picture discs have also gained hugely in value.

Attitudes to collecting UK CDs have also changed slightly over recent years. The once expensive but still fairly scarce first issues of Berserker, The Fury and Strange Charm remain very collectable but have fallen in value.
