A former model, Pattie Boyd landed a minor acting role in the Beatles 1964 film, A Hard Day’s Night. Harrison was instantly enamored by her beauty and charm and soon they were an item. Less than two years later, in January of 1966, they were married.

During her marriage to George, Pattie willingly took a back seat in the relationship, enjoying what appeared to be a picture perfect life with a Beatle, living in a spacious mansion in Esher.

Something is inarguably one of the treasures in the Beatles musical canon. Written by George about his lovely wife, it would later be heralded by none other than Frank Sinatra as one of the greatest love songs of the 20th century. But life behind the towering fortress walls of their new home was anything but sweet, and their marriage was starting to crumble.
