Ten questions for guitarist Scott Gorham
Did you put together the Greatest Hits tracklist?
I told the label to do it with some fans working at Universal, to cut to the chase, then we’d talk. There’s a couple of tracks they really wanted with Gary Moore, and he and Phil did a great job on those, so go ahead. I particularly wanted the live tracks from the Australian DVD, ’cos it’s awful. Phil and I did it in ’79 and, a few months later, we watched it in his living room. We thought there’s no fucking way in hell this thing’s gonna go out. Down the road, we mixed the sound to get it right, but the DVD isn’t that mix; it’s crap. What we got now is a mix from Peter Gabriel’s RealWorld studios, and it’s great. And now we’re talking about our own DVD-Video with a proper mix.
Swedish TV is making a documentary, Thin Lizzy Forever.
Yeah, and that shouldn’t be out either. Then there’s a German DVD, Live At Rockpalast, that shouldn’t be out. They see us as a rudderless boat due to management changes, but you can’t do a cease-and-desist ’cos it’d be so costly to run down all these guys. But we have a sticker on all our albums to show it’s official rather than being bootleg crap.
