On the eve of his UK dates at Glastonbury and Wembley, JOHN FOGERTY gets philosophical with Ken Sharp

His timeless work with Creedence Clearwater Revival and his solo career are imbued with a ghostly incantation of swamp blues, country and rockabilly, all tinged with a generous helping of the bayou. You’re back with Fantasy Records and your recent hits and DVD collections are titled The Long Road Home. In many ways, does it feel that you’ve come full circle in your career?
This is just an outward manifestation. There’s been a lot of healing within my heart, mostly because of my relationship with my wife, Julie. Not to sound like an old philosopher, but that always makes things more possible that may have seemed impossible before (laughs). So I really had ever so slowly become much more comfortable with my own past and the music.
