Ever thought, "I wish there was a magazine I could advertise in that goes direct to the hardcore fans who spend every spare penny on music from their favourite artists" Well, there has been, for 27 years.

Record Collector, the UK's longest-running music monthly of all (yes, we've outlasted Vox's Record Hunter supplement, Mojo's Mojo Collections spinoff, Select and The Face, and we've been going much longer than Mojo, Uncut, Q and Classic Rock, not to mention all the others), prides itself on the fact that it covers the widest spectrum of musical interest than any of the music monthlies clogging up the shelves. Never in one mag will you see a feature on some of the rarest David Bowie records in the world just 15 pages away from an interview with post-punk heroes Joy Division, and right near a Q&A with country music legend Emmylou Harris.

No other monthlies offer 16 pages of For Sale and Wanted listings for rare records every month; and there is definitely no other magazine dedicated to collecting, pricing and documenting the very existence of rare records of all genre. You may get the same old re-hashed stories with other magazines, but with Record Collector you get the fresh information that no one else knows about.

Sound like we're a bunch of old men stroking our beards? Think again. Our monthly OK Computer feature keeps a keen eye on download and internet-based collecting for the collector, our annual Modern Collectables feature rounds up the rarest in new collectables from modern bands, while our Reviews and News section covers the best in reissues and new album releases.

No genre is too obscure, or uncool. Whether its Cortina rock eight-track cassettes, Italian soundtracks or heavy metal, Record Collector realises that passion for music is the very foundation of a collecting obsession, and it wears its passion on its (gatefold) sleeve.
